This is Dr. Bennet Omalu, a coroner at the Allegheny County's coroner office. He was the first person to present research that CTE not only affects boxers, but it can also affect football players. He found his breakthrough while examining the brain of former Steelers legend, Mike Webster, who died at the age of 50 from a supposed heart attack. Omalu published his findings in Neurosurgeon, titled "Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy in a National Football League Player."
"Chronic means long term. Traumatic means associated with trauma.
Encephalopathy means a bad brain."
